PSALM                                     33.4-5, 18-20, 22

V: O Lord, let thy mercy lighten up-on us, / like as we do put our trust inˆthee.
4 For the word of the Lord is true, / and all his works are faith-ful.
5 He loveth righteousness and judge-ment: / the earth is full of the good-ness of theˆLord.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, / and upon them that put their trust in his mer-cy;
19 To deliver their soul from death, / and to feed them in the time ofˆdearth.
20 Our soul hath patiently tarried for the Lord; / for he is our help and our shield.
22 O Lord, let thy mercy lighten up-on us, / like as we do put our trust inˆthee.

 CANTICLE: SALVATOR MUNDI
Ant. O Saviour of the world, who by thy Cross and precious blood hast redeemed us; / save us and help us we humbly beseech thee, O Lord.
2      Thou didst save thy disciples when ready to perish: / hear us and save us we humbly beseech thee.
3      Let the pitifulness of thy great mercy / loose us from our sins we humbly beseech thee.
4      Make it appear that thou art our Saviour and mighty Deliverer: / O save us that we may praise thee, we humbly beseech thee.
5      Draw near according to thy promise from the throne of thy glory: / look down and hear our crying we humbly beseech thee.
6      Come again and dwell with us, O Lord Christ Jesus: / abide with us for ever we humbly beseech thee.
7      And when thou shalt appear with power and great glory: / may we be made like unto thee, in thy glorious Kingdom.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, / and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, / world without end.  Amen.   Repeat Antiphon.

LENT PROSE
Refrain: Hear us, O Lord*, have mercy upon us: for we have sinned against thee.
1 To thee, Redeemer, on thy throne of glory: lift we our weeping eyes in holy pleadings: listen O Jesu, to our supplications.  (Refrain)
2 O thou chief Corner-stone, Right Hand of the Father: Way of Salvation, Gate of Life Celestial: cleanse thou our sinful souls from all defilement.  (Refrain)
3 God, we implore thee, in thy glory seated: bow down and hearken to thy weeping children: pity and pardon all our grievous trespasses.  (Refrain)
4 Sins oft committed now we lay before thee: with true contrition, now no more we veil them: grant us, Redeemer, loving absolution.  (Refrain)
5  Innocent, captive, taken unresisting: falsely accused, and for us sinners sentenced: save us, we pray thee, Jesu our Redeemer.  (Refrain)
